It pays to look up when you’re walking in downtown Lexington!
For instance, take a look at the Lexington Laundry Company building on Main Street.
“The 1929 structure is considered by the US Department of the Interior to be Lexington’s finest example of art deco architecture with the façade ‘composed of wheat-toned glazed tile highlighted by stylized floral patterns.'”
Peter Brackney’s Kaintuckeean blog.
Can you imagine a laundry company going to that much trouble (and expense) in this day and age?
So much fun to see these architectural details, when most people just walk on by.

Baltimore had some nifty art deco style buildings too. When I watch the Poirot movies, seeing the British architecture of the 1930s/40s adds to the viewing pleasure.

I haven’t seen any Poirot movies, but I know what you mean. I get excited about architecture and architectural details!
