Kentucky day trip to…New Hampshire? Well, ok, it’s a day trip by plane from Lexington. But if you want to make it a day trip, you’ll have to stay at the airport and head right back. Just getting to New Hampshire involves much time spent cheek by jowl in a cramped airplane, balanced out with an equal amount of time hanging out in airports.
So I’m spending a week in New Hampshire and loving it. Gorgeous , of course. Mountains, forests, lakes, streams. I don’t see the loons that New Hampshire is known for, but I do hear them calling when they fly over early in the morning and again late at night.
I’m seeing a little bit of history up close, but not as much as I do on my Kentucky day trips. But our day trip to the White Mountains National Forest really was spectacular and today’s day trip to the Maine coast promises to be wonderful.
I’ll be back home next week and will resume my day trips around Kentucky. As for now–off to Maine!
Fascinating and you write it so well. Know anything about the origin of the name, Lovell Lake. Lovell is my middle name and keeps popping up in long past ancestors.
